The City of Vienna’s New Year’s Eve Trail winds through the city center, with stages, music and stalls. From Zeitgeist, you’re there quickly and back again quickly after midnight.

  • Take the U1 straight from Vienna Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) to Stephansplatz, 3 stops
  • 300 meters from the hotel to Vienna Central Station
  • To Rathausplatz: U1 to Karlsplatz, then the U2
  • On New Year's Eve, subway trains run all night
  • Back at Zeitgeist: bar open until 3 am

Yes, outside guests are welcome too. Admission is free, and you don’t need a ticket.

How do I get to the New Year's Eve Trail?

Take the U1 straight from Vienna Central Station to Stephansplatz, three stops. On New Year’s Eve, subway trains run all night, and our bar is open until 3 am.

Do I need to reserve for the New Year's Eve menu?

Yes, please reserve at least 3 days ahead, by phone or through the table inquiry.

Is there a vegetarian New Year's Eve menu?

Yes, the main course is stuffed eggplant with tomato, cucumber, buckwheat and baby greens. Please tell us how many vegetarian guests you’ll have when you reserve.

How late is the bar open?

On New Year’s Eve until 3 am, so you can have the First Drink of the Year after the New Year’s Eve Trail.

When is breakfast on January 1?

The hangover breakfast at Frannys is served on January 1 from 7:30 am to 1 pm, with hearty New Year’s classics.
