Zeitgeist Vienna is powered exclusively by green electricity generated by hydroelectric power plants in Vorarlberg.
Laundry
With our partner laundries we pay attention to sustainable conditions, renewable energy sources & low CO2 emissions.
Printed materials
Our printed materials are produced by a printing company with the Austrian Ecolabel. Recycled paper and environmentally friendly ink are used. We also donate the printer cartridges to RED NOSES as part of the Recycling4smile initiative.
eFueling stations
Charge your eCar or Tesla free of charge at one of the four charging stations in our hotel’s underground parking garage (charging time for a full charge when the vehicle battery is completely empty: approx. 6-8 h).
Toilet paper
Even our toilet paper is produced without chemicals and is made from 100% recycled paper. This makes it completely degradable and leaves no toxic traces in wastewater.
Eco-slipper
Our slippers are completely plastic-free, biodegradable and made of 100% natural materials such as
Natural linen, cork and flax fiber.
Organic Coffee & Tea
In addition to a selection of organic teas, our guests also enjoy FAIRTRADE coffee – because not only the taste has to be right, but also the conditions for our producers. For the coffee machines in the rooms, we offer plastic-free, aluminum-free and FAIRTRADE certified capsules.
Food delivery
Of course, only fresh and high-quality food is used in our kitchen – and on the table. This food is delivered daily in a CO2-neutral manner – by a certified supplier who, among other things, plants around 4,000 trees every year.
Paper straws
Enjoy cool drinks without a guilty conscience. Our straws are made of paper and therefore completely biodegradable. Cheers!
Care products
Our Absolute NORDIC Skincare brand care products are 97% biodegradable. They are made of renewable and plant-based materials, while ingredients that are slow to biodegrade have been kept to a minimum.
From waste to energy
In 2024, we handed over our used cooking oil for disposal. This oil was recycled and converted into environmentally friendly biodiesel, reducing the consumption of fossil diesel and protecting the environment.
Certified organic baked goods from the Wachau
The Teufner bakery supplies us with fresh, handmade baked goods every day. As an organic-certified artisan bakery, Teufner attaches particular importance to high-quality ingredients, traditional baking skills and sustainable production. Whether crispy rolls, aromatic bread or fine pastries – we are delighted to be able to offer our guests these fresh delicacies every day.
Keycards made from recycled PVC
Our room cards are made of 100% recycled PVC – saving raw materials and energy in processing as well as finishing, thus reducing emissions and landfills.
Photovoltaics
Our 96 photovoltaic modules can generate up to 40 kWp, depending on the position and intensity of the sun. In the first half of the year, we were already able to produce 32 MWh of electricity. This is roughly equivalent to the electricity consumption of a two-person household for 10 years. With the electricity already produced, one could also vacuum continuously for 3.6 years – or wash 32000 loads of laundry.

We attach great importance to natural materials, instead of plastic & co.
Dress cleaning
Our guests’ clothes are cleaned by our Viennese partner company in a water-saving manner and with environmentally friendly detergent. The return transport of the cleaned garments also takes place in garment bags (instead of plastic bags).
Location
Traveling without leaving a large environmental footprint? Thanks to our top location only 300 meters from the Central Train Station, you can reach your destination quickly and green with trains, buses, streetcars or the subway. It is also only 15 minutes by train from Vienna Schwechat Airport to the Central Train Station.

As a thank you for their proactive contribution to environmental protection, guests who forgo daily room cleaning will receive up to -20% discount on their stay as well as a €5 voucher for our Restaurant, Café & Bar Pergola. By doing so, you not only help us save cleaning agents, but also resources in the form of water and detergent for your towels.

Our green walls are not just an eye-catcher. They also significantly improve acoustics and the indoor climate.
Dripdrop Umbrellas
Our Dripdrop umbrellas are made from rPET polyester, an environmentally friendly material. With Dripdrop’s “Build to Last” rental model, we encourage our guests to return the umbrellas and at the same time actively contribute to environmental protection: For every rental, a tree is planted as part of the “Eden Reforestation Project”.
Digital Smart Check-In
Our guests can already check in online with their smartphone before arrival – this not only saves time but also a lot of paper.

Digital against waste paper
Conventional guest folders made of paper are rarely up-to-date – but often worn out. With our digital guest folder, all information on opening hours and menus are always at hand on your smartphone! Everything that cannot be displayed digitally is printed exclusively on 100% recycled paper.
LED lighting
We save electricity by using LED lighting in the rooms.
Room cleaning by "Green Cleaning"
The “Green Cleaning” technology (cleaning with over 180°C hot, dry steam and high pressure) kills germs, inactivates viruses and is gentle to surfaces at the same time – and all this without any caustic chemicals that can affect the skin and lungs of our cleaning staff and our guests.
Saving water when showering
Doing good not only while sleeping, but also while showering: All our bathrooms are equipped with water-saving shower systems. Thus, our guests can reduce water consumption by 50% when showering at the same water pressure.
Meat from Austria
With us you can enjoy your schnitzel without hesitation! Our Schnitzel meat comes directly from butchery Eder from Vienna.
High quality breakfast
The motto of our breakfast buffet is “organic, regional & home-made”! Our guests are happy about organic milk from Salzburg, organic free-range eggs from Lower Austria (Code O), Verival organic muesli from Tyrol, meat & sausage products from butchery Windisch from Lower Austria, jams from the Tyrolean Früchteküche, honeycomb from Carinthia, and much more.
Shirts made in Austria
Our housekeeping colleagues are real “magicians” and are wearing sustainably and fairly produced shirts from Lieber Wieder: These are made 100% of trees from regional forests and are fully compostable and biodegradable. Even the label is made of seed paper!
Cold water air conditioning systems
We only use cold water air conditioning systems. They are an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient alternative to conventional air conditioning systems using gas and refrigerant.

1) To save energy, keep the windows closed when the heating or air conditioning is on.
2) Also help with water consumption: Turn off the water when you brush your teeth or shave.
3) If you discover a dripping tap or a leak, please inform our reception immediately.
4) Separate your garbage properly – at our six stations on floors 3 to 6, in the lobby and in the mezzanin.
5) To avoid wasting food, only take what you really want to enjoy from the breakfast buffet.
6) Forgo the daily room cleaning service on arrival (for stays of 2 nights or more) and receive a voucher worth €5 for our in-house Restaurant, Café & Bar Pergola.
7) Using public transport is very easy with us: thanks to our central location near Vienna Central Station, you can reach the city center in just three subway stops.
