Covid-19 is banned from Zeitgeist Vienna

Currently open only to business travelers, Hotel Zeitgeist Vienna at the main train station made the most of the previous Corona lockdowns and meanwhile completed its new MEZZANIN seminar center. Six rooms ranging from 18 to 200m² offer sufficient space for meetings and conferences, in addition to state-of-the-art technology and fresh air supply. “The spacing is even large enough for full-grown baby elephants,” explains the hotel. A safe feeling is also provided by the increased hygiene standards, the disinfection dispensers provided in many places, a Covid-19 officer specially trained by the Vienna Red Cross, and weekly health checks of the staff.

Job security, sustainability and regionality

Asked how the 4-star hotel is coping with the challenges posed by the pandemic, management says: “Our most important success factor, our employees, will remain with us thanks to short-time working.” Now more than ever, prudent action is called for. For example, Zeitgeist Vienna, which is focused on sustainability, buys only products from Austrian businesses. In terms of guest behavior, the hotel sees a change in values: “There is no way around quality tourism anymore. Overtourism is passé. Long-distance travel is becoming less, vacations in the home country more. Before the pandemic, 75% of our total sales already came from Austria. A good basis for the time after.”
