There is much to thank Al Cook for – in 2006 he was even awarded the Golden Badge of Honour by the City of Vienna as a thank you for founding the local blues scene. As a young musician, his music did not correspond to the taste of the time, yet he learned all kinds of blues and early on used the archaic blues as a personal form of expression. For a long time he only played solo, in the 80s there was a detour to rockabilly – but with Harry Hudson on drums and Charlie Lloyd on piano he found two like-minded people. Together they impress with their own material based on the blues classics with detours into archaic blues that takes you to the deep south of America.
