A hotel writes (hi)stories
How did the trout get into the hotel? And why on earth is there a tent in the lobby? We tell you about our “Zeitgeist Secrets” and much more in our hot-off-the-press booklet “A Hotel Writes Stories”.
Tell me, what were you thinking?!
Managing Director Gerald Kolm and General Manager Andreas Purtscher sum up the 10-year existence, the idea to build the “hottest 4-star hotel” in Vienna – and whether the plan has succeeded.
Where hospitality is at home: our Pergola
Open, individual and timeless – that’s how we would describe our house. Restaurant-Café-Bar Pergola fascinates with a gigantic ceiling height, exposed concrete elements and incredible coziness – in summer extended by the green guest garden in the inner courtyard.
When designing the restaurant, one of our main goals was to create a bar area that is as spacious as possible, offering guests all the options they might want: restaurant, bar, coffee house, snack bar and a cozy corner. The initial motif for the design of the bar is a greatly enlarged photo of a very popular snack in Austria – a Cabanossi!

The heart of the house: our reception
Everything that is important to us comes together here: hospitality, humanity, design and the zeitgeist sitting up in the tent. Nine team members take care of our guests here.
We also wanted to meet the high expectations of our guests for a well-functioning reception desk in terms of design. As a counterpart to the bar of the Pergola restaurant, which shows a Cabanossi, the counter of the reception was designed. What could be the counterpart of meat? Fish, of course! Therefore, the counter of our reception shows an enlarged representation of the skin of a brown trout.

An empty stomach is a bad adviser: the kitchen
On the 2nd floor you will find our Zeitgeist kitchen. Over ten employees pamper our guests at the breakfast room, at the restaurant-café-bar Pergola, the seminar guests at the Mezzanin Meeting & Event Center as well as the Zeitgeist team with culinary delights.
We are proud that organic, regional and home-made are not just empty words for us. Completely veggie, vegan and gluten-free dishes can of course also be found on our menu.

Simply to feel good: our contemporary rooms
A team of 22 employees takes care of the cleanliness of our 254 contemporary rooms and public areas every day. All in all, there are seven floors to keep in good shape.
Variety is important to us in the room categories: from cosy business rooms with international sockets and rooms with three beds, to prestige rooms with a rooftop terrace, there is guaranteed to be something for every guest’s taste.
Environmental protection and sustainability are also top priorities in the rooms: In addition to our brand-new Green Clean Machine, which cleans hygienically with hot steam, we use water-saving shower systems, green electricity and biodegradable care products in all our rooms.

A garden to chill, play sports and enjoy
The green guest garden is probably the biggest surprise for our guests in the middle of a metropolitan area. Relax, enjoy or do sports, everything is possible here.
Our Chill and Workout Area – as it looks today – was created in 2013 and is a shady asset on hot summer days.
Also from the Mezzanin seminar center there is direct access to the guest garden of the Pergola Restaurant-Café-Bar

The Mezzanin, our “new addition” for a new approach: modern seminar rooms with feel-good factor
7 seminar rooms for up to 140 people are offered by our Mezzanin Meeting & Event Center, which opened in 2020.
When designing and furnishing the premises, the highest priority was given to the quality of the materials used and the functionality of the furnishings. State-of-the-art technology, from digital whiteboards to sophisticated sound and lighting systems, will also make yourevent in the Mezzanin a special experience .
